GWCQP Delegation Visits the Tunnel of Hope Museum in Sarajevo

As part of its official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, a delegation from the Global Women's Coalition for Quds and Palestine visited the Tunnel of Hope Museum in Sarajevo on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

The delegation was headed by the Secretary-General of the Coalition, Ms. Rabab Awad, and included the First Deputy Secretary-General, Ms. Asma Al-Ahmad, and the Regional Director, Ms. Sana Mohammed, as well as Dr. Naima Bin Yaich and Dr. Naziha Maarij, representatives of the Al-Zahraa Forum for Moroccan Women.

During the visit, the delegation learned about the documented history of the siege of Sarajevo (1992–1995) and the heroic role played by the Tunnel of Hope in securing the only humanitarian corridor for civilians during the siege, becoming a symbol of resilience and defiance in the face of war and aggression.

The coalition delegation was deeply moved by the stories of human resilience embodied in the museum, emphasizing that the Tunnel of Hope in Sarajevo represents the same spirit of resistance that the Palestinian people are experiencing today in Gaza and Al-Quds.

The delegation concluded its visit by stressing that the shared human memory of oppressed peoples must remain alive to remind the world of the necessity to support the oppressed and to oppose wars, occupation, and discrimination everywhere.
